Why is this Website called "I Am The Spoon"?
I Am The Spoon is a reference to a line in The Matrix (1999):
Spoon boy: Do not try and bend the spoon. That's impossible.
Instead... only try to realize the truth.
Neo: What truth?
Spoon boy: There is no spoon.
Neo: There is no spoon?
Spoon boy: Then you'll see, that it is not the spoon that bends, it is only yourself.
By seeing this discussion in the context of the Buddhist Doctrine of "No-Self" (and seeing myself as a loose collection of
mental processes rather than anything concrete), I decided that I am that spoon which
does not exist. Thus I am the spoon, there is no spoon. Voilą, a website is born.
