Everything is Possible
Sometimes an insight comes in the night that explains everything. And then the morning comes and you try to tell someone about it, and the blank look on their face tells you you're not making a word of sense. Winston Churchill apparently experienced this - waking in the night he wrote down what he thought was the nature of existence, the secret of the universe. In the morning he looked at his piece of paper to discover he'd written "The whole is pervaded with a strong smell of turpentine." [1]
I experienced something of the same thing last night...here's as much as I'm able to snatch back from my midnight clarity:
From my pitiful understanding of Quantum Mechanics, it seems that events which have been observed exhibit very different behaviour from events that have not - for example the interference pattern in Young's double slit experiment which disappears when a detector is used to determine which slit a photon has travelled through. It could be argued that this is due to the delay caused by the detection apparatus, but this is refuted by the Quantum eraser experiment.
While we're here, no discussion of things Quantum is complete without considering Schrödinger's Cat: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schr%C3%B6dinger's_cat
It seems that things that have not been proven to exist, all have some sort of existence. An existence which is even so tangible as to allow them to interact with each other. Could that be what we're experiencing here on Earth? Could it be that God, Gods, No God, Aliens, Hyperdimensional Entities, Ghosts, Time Travellers, Men in Black and Nothing-Other-Than-What-We-See-And-When-You're-Dead-You're-Just-Dead...what if that's all true, all existing and not existing at the same time? Perhaps Spiritual Development is less about choosing a number of things to believe in, than it is about opening up to the possibility that it all exists. Are we causing this? Is the weight of what humans have decided to believe about the world what's pulled it into existence? Is Quantum Foam nothing more than the result of a very small number of scientists being unable to come to a majority conclusion? As we push back the curtain of the unknown, is the known just a matter of what a sufficient number of people have decided we're going to find there?
When there were fewer people on the planet who perhaps had less certainty about 'how things are', did reality used to be more flexible? Did the fairies really die when people stopped believing in them? The word Royalty is derived from Real , did the King use to decide what was real and what was not?
All this doesn't explain the crop circles though. Don't tell me a bunch of stoned students with some string and an oil barrel came up with this stuff, it's just TOO BIG!
